text speak glossary

Text speak can be frustrating to keep up with.  Like any language, there are regional differences and there are constantly being new ones added.  Here is a list I’ve compiled of known text speak terms and their definitions.  If you know of one or several that aren’t on my list, leave a comment with your addition!

411 - information

99 – Parent is no longer watching

JK – Just Kidding

? – What? Or I have a question (like we said…some are easier than others)

! – To show exclamation

A-Ols – The administrator is online

AAMOF – As a matter of fact

ADN – Any day now

AFAIC – As far as I’m concerned

AFAIK – As far as I know

AFAIR – As far as I remember

AFJ – April fools joke

AFK – Away from the keyboard

AFZ – Acronym free zone (don’t we wish)

AISI – As I see it

ANFAWFOS – And now a word from our sponsor

AMAP – As many as possible

AS – Another subject

ASAP – As soon as possible (Yea! One we knew!)
